Who was...?
Lewis Carroll, born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, was born on 27 January 1832, in Daresbury, England. With Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, he created stories that extend far beyond their own time. Generations have followed Alice into a realm where a White Rabbit is late for time, tea parties have neither beginning nor end, and a grinning Cheshire Cat disappears with an enigmatic smile.
Through his fantastical narratives, his subtle linguistic wit, and his playful engagement with logic and absurdity, Lewis Carroll opens doors to worlds in which rules are questioned and boundaries dissolved. His work reminds us how delightful it can be to turn logic upside down and to view the world with wonder, humor, and imagination.
