Who was...?
Jules Verne, born on 8 February 1828, in Nantes, was a French writer and is considered one of the founders of modern science fiction. With extraordinary imagination and a strong interest in science and technology, he combined the real knowledge of his time with visionary ideas.
His most famous works include Journey to the Center of the Earth, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, and Around the World in Eighty Days. Many of his stories describe technological developments that only became reality decades later—such as submarines or space travel. Jules Verne skillfully combined thrilling adventures with educational content, which is why his novels continue to be read and repeatedly adapted for film to this day.
