Edgar Allan Poe was an American writer and is considered a pioneer of modern detective fiction. Darkness, mystery, and psychological depth characterize his work. With stories such as The Raven, The Tell-Tale Heart, and The Fall of the House of Usher, he created texts that continue to shape our understanding of horror, gothic, and detective literature.

Edgar Allan Poe was born on 19 January 1809, in Boston. His works take us to the limits of reason and madness, showing how fear, guilt, and obsession can dominate the human psyche.
